Our Craft

Each PALLIS collection is treated as a chapter, and every chapter starts with a reference, usually a person or a place we admire. Something with a certain character to it.

From there, the design is drawn by hand, then turned into technical drawings that set the shape, proportions and fit. A first prototype is made and worn before anything is signed off. Most designs go through several rounds of samples, with changes to fit, thickness and detail each time.

The frames are made from Mazzucchelli bio-acetate. It's a plant-based acetate, cut from block, and it's what gives the colour its depth when light passes through it. Each front and temple is milled from the sheet, fitted with a metal core wire for strength, then tumbled and hand-polished to bring out the finish.

Lenses are by ZEISS. Every pair carries 100% UV protection, with polarised options in selected colourways.

The hinges are seven-barrel, made in Italy by Visottica. They're riveted into the acetate and built for repeated daily use, keeping the temples firm over time.

Before leaving the factory, every pair is checked for alignment, finish and fit.

Each collection is produced in a limited run. When a run is finished, it moves into the archive and is rarely reproduced.

This is what it takes to make pieces that last a lifetime.
