Our Craft
We approach each collection as its own chapter.
The starting point is usually a reference of a world we admire. A person, a place, an image, a period of time. Something that has a certain character to it. From there, we work through the shape, proportion and details until the idea becomes a frame.
Once the design is settled, we build it around materials we know will hold up to it.
Mazzucchelli Bio Acetate gives the frames their depth, structure and finish. ZEISS lenses provide the optical quality. Visottica seven-barrel hinges, made in Italy, give the temples the movement and strength they need. Each has a different job, and each is part of the finished frame.
We produce each collection in limited numbers. When the run is finished, the collection moves into the archive rather than being reproduced indefinitely.
It keeps each design connected to the time it was made, and gives us the freedom to keep developing what comes next.
That's the Pallis process.
